UCLA Taukappella

Taukappella is an A Cappella group dedicated to Mandarin pop music. Formed in 2006 by a group of students at UCLA, the name “Taukappella” is drawn from a Taiwanese pun—“tau ka pai la” (頭殼壞啦)—meaning insanity in a humorous way. It is this lunatic passion with which we devote to singing. You can see our performances both on and off campus. Our platforms include Lunar New Year Galas and Taiwanese Cultural Night at UCLA, as well as occasional events at San Gabriel City council and the Chinese Embassy.
