Percussionist Simona Abdallah

Simona Abdallah - Palestinian Danish Percussionist who has transformed the sound and the story of the Darbuka the goblet shaped Arabic drum - traditionally reserved for men. Born in Germany in 1979 to refugee parent and raised in Aarhus / Denmark. Simona found her rhythm at the age of 15. What started as a passion becomes a lifelong calling: fusing Arabic beats with global sounds and carrying across continents. Today she has performed on stages throughout Africa, Asia, Europe , the US and Middle East - both as solo artist and alongside world renowned artists.
