Hello, I'm am Amateur Extra HAM and this channel is for items of interest to HAM operators as well as those who have hand held radios for "prepping" and such. My first two video's up are a test of a solar panel battery charging system to allow hand held radios (and other battery powered devices) to continue operation without grid power AND a review of a USB powered battery charger for the popular UV5R series of radios from Baofeng. My background includes a military career in maintenance & electrical work. I'm also a licensed pilot so I've got a lot of experience using radios and working on mechanical devices.
