My interest in photography started in 1967 when I was in 2nd grade, my godfather, Louis Spady bought me a hobby darkroom kit that had 4 x 5 "negatives" and photo paper. It was amazing to see the pictures appear in the chemicals. This interest grew later when my mother Jewel Tucker Erickson bought me a Polaroid Camera and staying with the Spady's in 1974 I used his Century Graphic camera with a 120 film back, and I joined the Yearbook staff at Rogue River Academy. I was Chief Photographer on The Makio - Redlands High School yearbook and for the school newspaper The Hobachi.
