I've been a music collector since the mid 80s, mainly focusing on genres such as electronic pop, synthpop and italo disco to name a few. In 1987 I bought my first CD player and immediately took the format to heart. I have since tried to update the majority of my collection to CD, but there are some songs and remixes that have never appeared on CD. I began ripping some of those tracks from my vinyl collection to my computer and then spending many hours manually cleaning up as much of the crackles and pops as I could using audio editing software.
