Black Cat Peanut Butter
Potgieterus, 1926. Alderton Limited announced that they would be producing the latest 'wonder food', Peanut Butter. Already a phenomenon in America, this high protein food source had been extensively used to feed invalids and the frail.
Captain Cant, the man behind the introduction of Black Cat, insisted that only the finest peanuts be used in the making of their peanut butter. And it was this quality control that made Black cat an instant hit, even without a single piece of advertising being done.
Since its introduction, Black Cat peanut butter became an unqualified success. Production schedules had to be stepped up to meet the demand in downtown Joburg food stores.
