Dan Dinello

An independent filmmaker, journalist, and author, Dan Dinello is Professor Emeritus at Columbia College Chicago. Dan made several award-winning shorts, including collaborations with his funny nephew Paul Dinello: “Shock Asylum” and “Beyond the Door” — with Stephen Colbert [The Late Show, The Colbert Report]; & “Wheels of Fury,” with Amy Sedaris [The Mandalorian, At Home with Amy Sedaris] He also made the new wave/disco musical “Rock Lobster” [1980], created a music documentary “Army Arrangement” about the African music legend Fela Kuti [1985] & an early documentary on the gay & lesbian liberation movement “Pink Triangles Rising” [1982].
