For people with Parkinson's disease, every day is a challenge. I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1997, when I was 40 years old. I have had a lot of difficulty learning to cope with Parkinson's disease. One of the most important lessons I have learned is that I cope better with Parkinson's disease when I exercise regularly and when I take the amount of medicine that I need to enable me to exercise. In 2010, I began leading exercise classes for people with Parkinson's disease. In these classes, we practice three types of exercises: exercises that we already can do easily, exercises that are difficult, and exercises in which we try to learn new physical skills.
