Hi and welcome to my channel! I've been a radio operator since the age of 15 when I trained to be a Merchant Navy Radio Officer and served for nearly ten years on British and foreign flag merchant ships. In 1973 I joined the Australian Coastal Radio Service and served at Sydney Radio VIS, La Perouse. Then Townsville Radio VIT, Cape Pallarenda before returning to VIS in 1975. Then in 1977 I went to Darwin Radio VID, Gregory Street, Parap where I stayed for nearly 20 years. Finally in 1996 I moved to Brisbane Radio VIB, Ningi and the service was closed down in 2002.
