Jeangu Macrooy

The seeds of Jeangu Macrooy's musical journey were planted when he received a guitar from his parents at thirteen. His ambitions led him to move from Suriname to the Netherlands in 2014, where his collaboration with producer Perquisite took off. Perquisite signed him to Unexpected Records, and Jeangu's debut EP 'Brave Enough' (2016) put his career on the fast track. His soulful debut album 'High On You' (2017) earned him major slots at Lowlands and North Sea Jazz, while his second album 'Horizon' (2019) showcased a broader sound.
